On June 22, 2021, I had the pleasure of attending the first meetup of DeSci Montreal, a community that aims to support creative science and intellectual property. The community provides a platform for scientists and creators to share their work and collaborate on new projects.

Jelani Clarke

DeSci Montreal, founded by Dr. Jelani Clarke and Vesta Korniakova, is focused on promoting innovation and creativity in science, and it is committed to helping its members protect their intellectual property. The official speaker at the event was Jelani Clarke, a father, scientist, and entrepreneur who is passionate about supporting other scientists and creators. Jelani has a Ph.D. in Neuroimmunology from McGill University and has worked as a research scientist in the Montreal biotech industry. He is also the founder of several startups, including a company that facilitates access to cutting-edge tooling for scientific research. Jelani’s background in science and his positive energy was inspiring, and I was impressed by his commitment to helping others.

In his presentation, Jelani emphasized the importance of intellectual property protection for scientists and creators. He discussed the challenges that scientists and creators face in protecting their work and the potential of blockchain technology to address these challenges.

Here is a small video presentation :

As a co-founder of Artizyou, I strongly believe that blockchain technology has the potential to revolutionize the way we protect intellectual property. By using blockchain technology, we can create a secure and transparent system that allows creators to protect their work and ensure that they are properly compensated for their contributions.

David Thomson

During the event, David Thomson introduced an exciting scientific development project called Grassland.network. This project offers peer-to-peer computer vision software that enables developers to give their software an API for accessing real-life environments, without any economic, geographic, or political barriers. This technology allows 3rd-party applications and smart contracts to immediately query, locate, and respond to physical changes in tangible assets. The technological revolution that Grassland Network is bringing to the field of grassland management is exciting, and it has the potential to make a positive impact on the world. For more information about Grassland Network, please visit their website at https://www.grassland.network/.

In conclusion, DeSci Montreal is a community that is committed to supporting creative science and intellectual property. The founders are passionate about promoting innovation and creativity and helping their members protect their intellectual property. Jelani Clarke is an inspiring speaker who is committed to supporting other scientists and creators. Blockchain technology has the potential to revolutionize the way we protect intellectual property, and I am excited about the potential of this technology to support creative science and intellectual property.

A big thank you to the complete DeSci Montreal team and community for making this event a success.Jelani Clarke’s LinkedIn profile:  https://www.linkedin.com/in/jelani-clarke-ph-d-920b1080/For more information about DeSci Montreal and its mission, please visit https://desci.world/.
